Job Description
The lab technician will be responsible for all aspects of the wet lab: viscometers, thermo/balances, titrations, gel testing, and catalysts. This role involves formulation and batch mixtures, requiring a strong mathematical aptitude. This position is within a production lab.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain lab equipment such as viscometers, thermo/balances, and titration apparatus.Conduct gel testing and handle catalysts as part of the lab processes.Formulate and prepare batch mixtures using basic math skills.Ensure quality control and adherence to lab protocols.Maintain accurate records of all tests and formulations.Essential SkillsUnderstanding of chemistry and quality control principles.Experience with titrations and viscometers.Basic math skills for manipulating solution percentages.Additional Skills & QualificationsSome college education or lab experience is beneficial.Wet Lab experience is a significant advantage but not required.Work Environment
Training will be 2-3 weeks on the first shift (Monday - Friday, 7am-3pm) with one-on-one training by the Lab Supervisor. The available schedules are 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. Flexibility to work any shift is required, although the technician will predominantly work on one shift. Attendance and punctuality are highly valued with a strict 12-point attendance system. The dress code includes comfortable clothing such as jeans/khakis, tennis shoes/loafers, and business-appropriate shirts/t-shirts. Safety shoes are required, and safety goggles and lab coats will be provided. The work environment involves exposure to strong chemical smells, such as concentrated acetone.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.60 - $23.60/hr.
