Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description

The Laboratory Technician position involves detailed testing and the use of equipment for data collection and some analysis. The role may occasionally require contact with internal and external customers and vendors. The primary responsibilities include performing chemical and physical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes or products to support the Research and Development Scientist.

ResponsibilitiesConduct laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of materials using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and microscopy.Perform routine analyses to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of test data.Record data and prepare simple charts or graphs.Accurately follow work instructions along with established operating procedures and test methods.Maintain and clean laboratory instruments or equipment.Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams and by conducting laboratory/plant safety audits.Provide technical support or assistance to engineers.Essential SkillsQuality assurance testingCeramicsMaterials scienceLaboratory operationsQuality controlChromatographySpectroscopyMicroscopyAdditional Skills & Qualifications1-3 years of related laboratory experienceDegrees in Material Science, Geology, or Chemistry preferredWork Environment

The position is based on-site in a lab environment. Part of the work involves operating a 50-foot chamber that goes into the ground for compacting powders to do moisture readings. The shift hours are 7 am - 3:30 pm or 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
