Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves sample preparation, supporting chemists, conducting proximate testing, protein testing, fat testing, moisture testing, extraction, and centrifuging. You will gain hands-on experience with new instrumentation and methods, working towards developing into a high-level scientist or technologist. Responsibilities + Prepare samples for testing + Support chemists in various laboratory tasks + Conduct proximate testing, including protein, fat, and moisture testing + Perform extractions and centrifuging processes + Maintain detailed records and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Essential Skills + Experience in a production environment + Strong decision-making skills + Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) + Detail-oriented + Experience in chemistry and laboratory practices + Proficiency in sample preparation Additional Skills & Qualifications + Degree in Science OR 1+ years of experience in a lab + Proven ability to follow critical thinking processes and SOPs Work Environment You will be working in a food chemistry lab where nutritional values, contamination, and quality of goods are tested for both imports and exports. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with potential for flexibility based on business needs following a three-week intensive training period. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in New Orleans,LA.
