Yes Duties and Responsibilities The Lab Technician will hold joint appointments in the Sanger Lab (Department of Biology) and Krueger (Department of Anthropology) Lab. This individual will participate in: 1. Collecting various types of data (e.g., microhardness, elemental composition, micro-CT, dental micro- and macrowear) related to chewing efficiency, function, and dental wear; 2. Care for a captive reptile colony 3. Conduct molecular experiments related to reptile development; 4. Project planning in collaboration with each PI and colleagues. This position is contingent on funding and performance evaluation. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or a related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree. Experience Required: 1-2 years of previous research experience in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, neuroscience, molecular biology, or cell biology. Qualifications Applicants with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biological Anthropology, or a related field are required. Applicants with experience in both developmental biology and dental anthropology, with an emphasis on paleoanthropology, are preferred. Certificates/Credentials/Licenses Applicants with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biological Anthropology, or a related field are required. Applicants with experience in both evolutionary biology and dental anthropology, with an emphasis on paleoanthropology, are preferred. Computer Skills Applicants with experience in basic word processing software is required. Those with experience in micro-CT processing software, statistical analysis programs, and IntelliChew are preferred.
