Job Description

The individual in this role will be a part of the magnet wire testing laboratory, responsible for performing quality tests on magnet wire for quality specifications, investigation, design proposals, R&D, improvement, and performance. This entry-level position offers hands-on quality lab experience without requiring a degree. Candidates must have experience working within a quality lab role and possess lab & GMP experience.

ResponsibilitiesComplete quality tests of magnet wire for quality specifications, investigation, design proposals, R&D, improvement, and performance.Conduct testing on QA and experimental runs, action requests, and sample orders.Assist in preparing magnet wire enamels, thinners, and lubricants.Perform inspection and analysis of raw materials and chemical products to ensure adherence to specifications.Conduct a range of tests requiring attention to detail.Read, understand, and use detailed instructions; perform testing; enter data; present data; and prepare reports or charts to report test results.Utilize chemical testing equipment and measuring instruments.Assist technicians, engineers, and management in analyzing, solving, and correcting problems.Utilize computer programs, quality systems, and tools, and be highly involved in the quality management system.Follow all procedures, methods, and guidelines to ensure quality, safety, and production goals are met.Enter records or write up data for company reports.Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to give and receive information while maintaining positive working relationships.Essential SkilOur ClientHigh School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in scientific field preferred.1+ years of GMP experience.1+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control lab tech roles.1+ years of experience with basic laboratory techniques.Ability to work a 3rd shift, 12-hour schedule.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong working knowledge of computers.Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO/QS/TS).High attention to detail, organized, and above-average mechanical skills.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Additional SkilOur Client & QualificationsExperience in chemistry, quality control, quality inspection, and wet chemistry techniques like titration.Work Environment

The work environment includes one 1st shift and one 3rd shift, with schedule flexibility needed during training. The 3rd shift operates from 8pm-8am on a 2-2-3 schedule, with every other weekend off. Training occurs on the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm for the first four weeks. The facility is climate controlled and offers opportunities for growth within multiple groups/departments across engineering and sciences. The team is small and cohesive, providing 1-on-1 training and the chance to learn from experienced lab technicians. The company supports various industries, including automotive, energy, industrial, and commercial/residential sectors, and offers multiple plants throughout the Fort Wayne area for career growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.65 - $21.65/hr.
