Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description

The Lab Technician will be responsible for testing used motor oil by performing Penskey-Martens Closed cup Flash Point, BS&W by Centrifuge, and pH testing. The technician will also test PCBs using a Gas Chromatograph (GC) and will need experience in BS&W, Flash Point Tests, and Total Halogens with a Dexsil Test Kit. The role includes following lab safety procedures and performing routine testing on oil samples.

ResponsibilitiesPerform routine testing on oil samples.Conduct Penskey-Martens Closed cup Flash Point tests.Conduct BS&W tests by Centrifuge.Measure pH levels.Test PCBs using a Gas Chromatograph (GC).Conduct Total Halogens tests with a Dexsil Test Kit.Adhere to lab safety procedures at all times.Essential SkillsProficiency in chemistry.Experience using pH meters and other laboratory equipment.Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Chemistry.2+ years of lab testing experience with PCB's using GC.2+ years of experience with BS&W, Flash Point, and Total Halogens tests using a Dexsil Test Kit.Familiarity with wet chemistry and oil testing.Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Additional Skills & QualificationsOpen-mindedness.Initiative-taking.Comfortable with multi-tasking.Work Environment

The work environment consists of a small lab where safety goggles and gloves are required. The role follows a Monday to Friday shift from 8 AM/9 AM to 4 PM/5 PM. The technician will report to the lab supervisors.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
