Lab Technician

Description
The Lab Technician will be responsible for testing both liquid and powdered products. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a lab environment. Additional job responsibilities include:
+ Conducting all assigned tests in accordance with established laboratory procedures, test methods, and good laboratory practices.
+ Accurately reading and interpreting specifications, and performing appropriate physical and chemical tests on products and materials.
+ Operating laboratory equipment and performing procedures for viscosity, pH, color (spectrophotometric absorption), and insoluble products.
+ Recording data in manual or computerized systems.
+ Interpreting test results in relation to internal product and customer specifications.
+ Informing management about non-conforming materials or products.
+ Performing calibration of inspection, measuring, and testing equipment as needed, and participating in impartial internal audits when required.
+ Adhering to all laboratory safety procedures.
+ Complying with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements at all times and notifying management of any policy violations.
+ Performing other tasks or projects as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in a food production facility a plus
• B.S. Degree in Food Science or Science preferred but not required

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
