Lab Technician II - Allogen Laboratory

The Allogen Laboratory Department within Cleveland Clinic's Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Institute features more than 50 years of expertise in Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Typing, Crossmatching and Antibody Determination. Services include a complete testing menu and expert guidance for Solid Organ and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Programs supporting pre- and post-transplant patient needs. As Lab Technician II in this unit, you will receive and accession laboratory specimens, perform investigation procedures and resolve issues/problems. In this role, you will also gain access to various educational and professional development courses to enhance your skills and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic. **A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 4:30PM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Receive and accession laboratory specimens into the LIS. + Retrieve, sort, track and deliver specimens. + Verify accurate documentation relative to specimen processing. + Maintain patient, specimen and tracking data using the laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices. + Prepare specimens for analysis and accept or reject specimens. + Perform manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting and routine maintenance).
