Responsibilities:
Receives and accessions specimens into the LIS.Retrieves, sorts, tracks and delivers specimens.Verifies accurate documentation relative to specimen processing.Accepts or rejects specimens according to established standards and performs specimen investigation procedures to resolve lab specimen issues or problems.Prepares specimens for analysis.Performs manual processing (centrifuge, aliquoting, and routine maintenance. Maintains patient, specimen and tracking data using laboratory computer system, tracking and software/devices.Communicates and documents essential information.Performs preventive maintenance and record keeping procedures.Performs basic clerical functions and places work orders.Other duties as assigned.Education:
High School Diploma/GED required.Associate’s degree preferred (preferably in Science)Associate's degree (or equivalent credit hours) will substitute for up to one year of experience.
