Lab Technician/Research Assistant
Posting Number: S06190P Department: Neuroscience Salary Range: $39,000 - $42,000, DOQ Pay Basis: Monthly Position Status: Regular full-time Location: Dallas Job Description: The Brain Circuits Laboratory, led by Steven Small and Ana Solodkin, is seeking a highly motivated Lab Technician interested in the study of brain aging and language, with particular emphasis on the role of sleep, exercise, diet, and social connectedness in the dynamic connectivity of the brain during language processing. Additionally, they will be responsible for the administrative aspects of running a laboratory (i.e., scheduling, record-keeping, etc.) and interacting with human subjects. The ability to do coding in Python, R, and/or MATLAB is a plus. Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills and a strong interpersonal manner are important for triaging solutions, identifying and executing troubleshooting efforts, planning equipment, and resource use, and interacting with lab members and older adult research participants. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree with a minimum of two years hands on experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Preferred Education and Experience: HIGHLY PREFERRED : + Candidates with a strong background in cognitive neuroscience.
