Surgical Tech/Delivery Room - Burdett Care Center located in Troy, NY has an opportunity for a Delivery Room /Surgical Technologist.
The selected Surgical Technologist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Providing assistance as first scrub at the surgical table for select proceduresCreate and maintain sterile fieldPrepare operating roomsMonitors breaks in technique and function, including scrub/gown technique, clean sterile -field and set up sterile fieldInspects sterile items for contamination before opening, maintains sterility while scrubbed, maintains sterility of instruments and suppliesPerformance and documentation of accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and proceduresPositioning and transport of patientsMinimum requirements:
Ability to work on call and report to work within 30 minutesMust meet one of the following:
Certified Surgical Technologist certification AND graduation from an accredited programNYS LPN licenseCompleted an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Public Health Service Commissioned CorpsEmployed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015Preferred requirements:
1+ year of experience as a surgical tech in an operating room settingStrong dexterity and stamina to work on long cases as neededPrioritize quickly a number of different tasks and activatesWork and engage with a team to help promote strong team workStrong communication skills in a fast pace work environmentCritical thinking skills to help assist the RNs and SurgeonsPassion to learn, grow and develop in the nursing fieldPay Range: $25.00 - $31.45
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
