Why we need this role

As Colt integrates the Lumen EMEA Business, this role is crucial to ensuring a smooth and legally compliant transition. Your expertise in individual and collective labor law will help navigate organizational changes and ensure all actions align with legal regulations. Additionally, you will lead negotiations with works councils, fostering positive relationships and cooperation. Your contributions will be key to successfully adapting to the new structure and driving the business forward.

What you'll do Independently and proactively provide legal advice and support to (international) leaders and German employees on personnel-related matters. This includes considering current case law, applicable works agreements, and global guidelines to make informed and legally sound decisions. Collaborate with global stakeholders from the business area and global HR teams to design and locally implement strategic initiatives. This includes ensuring both business and labor law requirements are met while adhering to best practices to ensure a harmonized and effective implementation. Manage complex employee relations issues or change management initiatives. This involves leading negotiations, providing legal advice, and representing Colt before labor courts to protect the company’s interests and minimize legal risks. Advise, communicate, and train (international) leaders on HR operational processes. This includes performance and salary management within a legal framework to ensure that all HR processes are carried out efficiently and in compliance with the law. Legally review labor law documents, including employment contracts and certificates of employment, to ensure they comply with applicable laws and internal policies. What we're looking for Fluent in both German and English, written and spoken, to communicate effectively in an international environment. Degree in law, human resources, business administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a relevant vocational qualification with a specialization in labor law to provide the necessary professional foundations. Professional experience in the employee relations area, with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in working with employees and leadership teams. Excellent knowledge of working with German works councils to ensure effective and constructive communication and negotiation. Comprehensive up-to-date knowledge of labor law and HR best practices to stay informed of legal developments and best practices. Enjoyment of working in an international team to promote a positive and productive work atmosphere. Strong customer and service orientation in dealing with internal and external stakeholders to meet their needs and expectations. Reliability, resilience, approachability, diplomacy, and confidence in dealing with demanding leaders or stakeholders to act confidently and professionally in challenging situations. Quick comprehension and excellent attention to detail to quickly grasp and process complex issues. Ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders with conflicting priorities to find a balanced and effective solution. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analytical skills to make informed and well-considered decisions. Strong project management skills, especially in organization, prioritization, and time management, to effectively and successfully manage projects.
