Laboratory Analyst (Industrial Hygiene)

LA Testing Inc. is seeking a Full Time Laboratory Analyst (Industrial Hygiene) for its Huntington Beach, CA location. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Experienced analysts are welcomed to apply.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparation and analysis of environmental and industrial hygiene samples
Silica preparation and analysis using XRD NIOSH 7500/SHA ID 142 analysis  
Perform sample and QC preparation and analysis by various techniques following regulatory methods (i.e. EPA, ASTM, NIOSH, OSHA, SOPs)
Prepare and analyze Inorganic / Organic bulk sample matrices (Caulking, concrete, wipes, oil, paint chips, soil, air) using EPA, SOP or as appropriate
Sample preparation methods: EPA 6010, 6020/ EPA 7470,7471 / NIOSH 7303, 0600/0500, EPA 7400 / NIOSH 6009, 1500 / EPA 200.8 
Responsible for basic equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies
Sample prep methods:  acid digestion/ organic extraction / inorganic digestion, appropriate batch QC and standards
This includes Lead sample preparation, IH sample preparation environmental sample preparation.
Analytical equipment includes  AA, ICP, HPLC, XRD, IC, UVVIS, Analytical Balance, Environmental Chamber
Maintain a neat and orderly work area
Collect and compile data from tests to generate reports for clients according to our Quality Assurance/Quality Control and EDD standards as directed
Knowledge of laboratory safety and maintaining proper quality control protocols
Maintain proper QC lab protocols 
Clerical duties including report generation and data entry of sample receipt
Cross training in various instrumentation including;  XRD, GC, HPLC, GCMS, ICP, ICP-MS, balance, Mercury FIMS as needed. 



Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Biological Sciences
Experience in a commercial Lab setting using Inorganic/Organic sample handling/ preparation / acid digestion techniques is a plus
Candidate must be able to distinguish between colors in order to perform analysis
Ability to work independently or with a team
Basic math skills related to analytical chemistry
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, with multi-tasking skills, and prioritize assignments
Good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills
Able to stand and sit for various lengths of time

Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

LA Testing offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account. The pay range for this position is $20.00/hr. to $21.00/hr.
