Laboratory Assistant
The Johns Hopkins University at All Childrens Hospital is seeking a **_Laboratory Assistant_** who will function and carry out experiments under direct supervision in the Nagy lab. Following routine protocols under the close supervision of senior lab personnel, performs laboratory tests utilizing requisite lab equipment and instruments, making minor adjustments as required. Typically works with biohazardous and/or radioactive materials. Responsible for laboratory maintenance, preparing solutions and media and ordering supplies. In addition to performing experiments, candidate will participate in regular lab meetings. This position is for casual (as needed) employment and will work no more than 27 hours per week, in accordance with JHU HR policies. The Laboratory Assistant may have a regular/consistent, infrequent or variable schedule and may work as needed throughout the year. They may not work more than 987 hours in a 12-month period. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + Records data; maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment. + Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures. + Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, and maintains laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments used in research experiments. + Data retrieval, archival, and transfer. + Assists with lab tasks as core resource to the lab. **Minimum Qualifications** + High School Diploma or graduation equivalent. **Preferred Qualifications** + Some undergraduate coursework.
