We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic team in a chemical manufacturing facility. The Laboratory Assistant will support laboratory operations by performing a variety of routine tasks related to testing, quality control, and documentation of chemical products. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to follow safety protocols, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in Laboratory Testing: Perform routine chemical analysis and tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products according to established procedures.Sample Collection: Collect samples of materials, chemicals, and products from various stages of the manufacturing process for testing.Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and ready for use, including routine cleaning and troubleshooting as needed.Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record test results, observations, and lab activities in appropriate databases and ensure timely reporting of findings to the quality control team or laboratory supervisor.Assist in Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies and chemicals. Ensure proper storage and disposal of materials, following all safety and environmental regulations.Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals, ensuring a safe and compliant laboratory environment.Support Research and Development: Assist with experiments and the development of new processes or products when required.Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with manufacturing, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of product quality.Quality Control Support: Assist in ensuring that all chemical processes meet internal and external quality standards and regulatory requirements.Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred.Experience: Previous laboratory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is highly desirable, but not mandatory.Technical Skills:Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as pH meters, spectrometers, titrators, and analytical balances.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and lab management software.Knowledge: Basic understanding of chemical principles and laboratory safety protocols.Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a laboratory environment that may involve exposure to chemicals and other potentially hazardous materials. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.Certifications: Laboratory safety and chemical handling certifications are a plus.Skills and Abilities:Strong attention to detail and accuracy in lab work and documentation.Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Good communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with other teams.Ability to troubleshoot equipment and basic technical problems.Working Conditions:The role involves working in a laboratory environment within a manufacturing facility, where chemicals and industrial equipment are in use.Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, including gloves, safety glasses, lab coats, etc.May require occasional overtime or shift work depending on the production schedule.Why Join Us:
