Laboratory Assistant
Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role involves working in a hospital setting, collecting and accessioning tissues, data entry, and handling biohazard disposal. The ideal candidate will be comfortable multitasking and managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities + Collect tissues from various hospital floors + Accession tissues into the system + Type and toggle between multiple computer systems + Print out cassette blocks + Keep up with the volume of tasks + Handle biohazard disposal + File slides accurately + Pivot to urgent tasks as they arise Essential Skills + Experience in a laboratory setting + Proficiency in data entry + Experience with tissue processing and accessioning + Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload + Previous hospital experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in an academic lab setting is a plus + Comfortable handling biohazard materials + Strong organizational skills Work Environment This role is based onsite at a hospital, specifically at 919 E 32nd St, Austin, TX. The position requires being on your feet throughout the entire shift. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a large reference laboratory and potentially transition into a full-time role. Your work will have a direct impact on ensuring patients receive timely results. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
