Laboratory Assistant (Entry Level)

Location: Must be located in the state of MN

Schedule: Monday-Friday 11am-7:30pm (no overtime or weekend work)

Job Description:

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for processing raw biological materials, primarily cow and pig blood, by separating the red and white blood cells. You will also maintain and clean production equipment and containers after processing runs. The end products you help create are used to make calibrators for hematology instruments. This role involves working in a raw materials lab, utilizing centrifuges to break down animal blood, which is then further processed in the components lab. Due to FDA regulations, precise documentation is required, ensuring proper lot numbers are documented.

Key Responsibilities:Operate centrifuges and clean dishwareWrap cleaned equipment for further sterilizationBatch and label productsDocument results, process, and refer to past batch recordsUnderstand and follow appropriate lab protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs), including regulatory awareness of chemical handling, hazards, compliance, and proper use of equipmentFollow daily work instructions and priorities set by the supervisor with a commitment to safetyParticipate in continuous process improvement efforts, identify and flag areas for improvementPerform additional duties as assignedSkills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in science (preferred) OR Associate's degree with science coursework/work experienceAbility to work both as a team and independently Comfortable following SOPs workign with bloodMath skills required for dilutionsPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
