This is a full time (0.8-1.0) day shift Cytotechnologist position in the Lab department.
The Cytotechnologist who, under the direction of Administrative and Medical Director, is Technical Supervisor for the Cytology Service of the hospital. is responsible for assuring that all quality control, proficiency testing and maintenance are well-performed and evaluated, policies and procedures are current and well-executed, turnaround time is satisfactory, record systems are well-organized and current, quality improvement mechanisms are implemented, test analyses are monitored and students are trained.
Minimum Required:
Baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university and successful completion of the Cytotechnology program from an accredited institution. Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is required.Completed a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) program, CT (ASCP).Three (3) years professional experience as cytotechnologist in an accredited hospital laboratory.Must meet CLIA requirements for Technical Cytology.Ability to work independently with sufficient knowledge of all aspects of the Cytology department.Must have strong mental and visual concentration.Good hand/eye coordination.Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on communicationWeekend Requirements: None
