Laboratory Information Systems Specialist (LIMS) City Florence State/Province Kentucky Posted Date 9 hours ago(6/17/2024 4:35 PM) Responsibilities:

As our Laboratory Information Systems Specialist, you will help provide technical support and process optimization for our Celanese Labs globally. Your primary work scope will focus on utilizing SampleManager LIMS and other tools like Power-BI to aid laboratories in optimizing their testing and information workflows. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, detail oriented, self-starter who is comfortable working both as part of a team and as an independent contributor.

 

Develop SampleManager LIMS skills to enable optimization of laboratory processes for research and manufacturing labs globallyDevelop SampleManager Workflows, Forms, Reports, and support custom code as needed for upgrade project and ongoing support.Automate laboratory instrument results interface with LIMS using standard software tools.Perform system testing for application changes and application development efforts, including the preparation of test data and validations of system processing.Support the laboratory system interfaces (SAP, PI, SharePoint, other proprietary system) and assist with issue resolution.Identify opportunities for system improvements based on personal observations, as well as input from end-users (laboratory personnel, customers, and management).Investigate application weaknesses and implement appropriate interventions.Investigate reported LIMS system problems and provides timely resolutions.Develop expertise with reporting tools for Laboratory System applications for data mining purposes.Provide technical guidance and assistance to laboratory and LIMS SME globally.Act as a liaison between Global Labs, IT Department and project teams as appropriate.Incorporate principles of teamwork in the resolution, completion, and follow-up of responsibilities.Prioritize work assignments, and effectively manage time to complete tasks within prescribed timeframes; confer with the Manager regarding timeline concerns.Keep current with trends, developments, and practices in the field; maintain application knowledge keeping abreast of changes to software applications, tools, and interfaces. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Engineering or other STEM field or commensurate industrial experience1-5 years engineering or technical computing experienceKnowledge of laboratory operations, equipment software and data managementContinuous improvement mindsetLIMS knowledge a plus – Sample Manager preferred with VGL programming experienceSoftware development experience with C# and .NET Framework a plusStrong Analytical Skills

 

Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

Familiarity with SQL and Database LogicProject management skills including multi-tasking and adherence to milestonesAbility to work across disciplines for customer input and collaborationFamiliarity with Lean 6 Sigma, SAP -QMProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programsPower BI
