Ensures appropriate resources, sets direction and manages employee performance. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Prioritizes the daily workflow by coordinating and delegating daily technical operations. + Manages or works directly on projects of moderate to complex scope. + Selects, schedules, and assigns staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary. + Evaluates activities of assigned area(s) to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service. + Ensures compliance with QA/QC standards required by laboratory regulatory agencies. + Makes recommendations regarding the development of policies, goals and objectives. + Implements unit or clinic policies, goals, and objectives. + Monitors department financial performance. + May function in the Laboratory Director capacity during the absence of the Laboratory Director. + Acts as laboratory liaison to other departments. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION + Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education EXPERIENCE + Five years' technical experience in a laboratory setting including two years' concurrent supervisory experience. . PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Frequent keyboard use/data entry. + Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Rare climbing.
