Laboratory Processing Support Specialist
The Laboratory Processing Support Specialist is responsible for the accessioning, processing, and distribution of various laboratory specimens. This role is responsible for coordinating specimen movement within the hospital's laboratory departments and to external referral laboratories. The Laboratory Processing Support Specialist directly impacts the quality and timeliness of medical diagnostics and patient care.

Performs all processes associated with specimens received into the laboratory including reviewing the test orders, ensuring positive patient identification, accessioning specimens into the laboratory information system, and distributing to the appropriate laboratory department for testing to maintain specimen integrity in diagnostic outcomes.
Addresses suboptimal specimens by utilizing available resources to guarantee reliable results and maintain high-quality standards.
Manages workload to adhere to established laboratory turnaround times and contribute to efficient diagnostics and patient care.
Responds promptly to customer concerns to foster positive patient experiences and effective communication within the laboratory environment.
Practices responsible resource management by actively participating in inventory control to minimize waste and support cost-effective operations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:Required: 6 months
