We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** SMF-Sutter Med Foundation- Central **Position Overview:** This position has a focus on Point-of-Care testing, and is responsible for coordinating all internal and external laboratory services performed as part of the specified point of care (POC) program sites. Responsible for validity of test results, result reporting, specimen handling, and maintenance of department POC and competency records. Will train staff at various sites. Assists in maintaining and continually improving the laboratory's Quality Management Program (QMP), to include monitoring, reporting and assessing performance-related information. Functions as a subject matter expert; advises on all aspects of the Lab's Quality Control Program, Process Management and External/Internal Assessments (i.e. proficiency testing and surveys/inspections). Investigates, reports and facilitates resolution of non-conforming events. Provides data and reports to support the quality review activities of the Medical and Operations Management teams, ensuring continual improvement of operational quality and service. Facilitates the design and validation of efficient workflow processes. Conducts, and participates in, quality-related meetings. Develops a variety of QMP documents (process maps/tables, procedures and forms) Supports regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness by coordinating or completing activities to fulfill requirements. Facilitates complete and compliant management of records as applicable to assigned Lab section(s) **Job Description** : **EDUCATION:** Other: Graduate of an accredited Clinical Laboratory Scientist program **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** CA Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:** 5 years recent relevant experience Experience with training others preferred. **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence in quality systems, project management and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of 1988 Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA ’88) - federal certification requirements and standards, and State, Federal Accrediting Agency. Knowledge of California Business and Professional Codes (BPC), Chapter 3, Title 17; Chapter 2 of California Code of Regulations (CCR), Codes of Federal Regulation (CFR) and any other governing the practice of laboratory medicine. Knowledge of quality practices and procedures within a clinical laboratory environment, including knowledge of Chemistry, Hematology, Point of Care, Microbiology, and Transfusion Medicine. Well-developed analytic and software skill. Working knowledge of Lab Information system (LIS) and hospital electronic medical record systems. Quantity of Work: Ability to organize and prioritize job duties and assigned tasks for completion within expected timeframes Quality of Work: Ability to accurately, precisely, and reliably perform job duties and assigned tasks.
