Laboratory Research Technician II

The Department of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation is recruiting a Laboratory Research Technician II to support the ongoing research in the Sahu lab. This position is responsible for assisting with small animal experiments including injections, blood isolation, minor surgeries, functional testing, and exercise protocols; cellular experiments including cell culture assays, molecular assays (Westerns and PCR), live cell imaging, and ELISAs; histology including tissue sectioning, and immunofluorescence staining (should be willing to learn if does not have experience); and minor lab management including organizing, tracking inventory, ordering supplies, assisting in the onboarding process with incoming students, and assisting with IACUC protocol revisions. Bioinformatics experience (microarray data analysis, RNAseq data analysis etc.) preferred. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate with collaborators and co-workers are essential. Prior lab is experience helpful. Attention to detail is necessary along with planning and execution of experiments.
