Job Description

LWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee the shift operations. The Shift Leader will report administratively to head Shift Leader or Laboratory Manager and serve as a shift supervisor. This role involves directing work by assigning responsibilities and tasks to others, ensuring staff members have the necessary resources and authority to accomplish assigned tasks, and facilitating the professional growth of team members through on-the-job training. The Shift Leader will also provide timely feedback, participate in staff evaluations, and contribute to writing monthly and final reports.

ResponsibilitiesDirect work by assigning responsibilities and tasks to others.Ensure staff members have the necessary resources and authority to accomplish assigned tasks.Facilitate the professional growth of team members through on-the-job training and development of enhanced skills.Provide timely feedback to staff on performance.Participate in the evaluation of staff and identification of their needs.Write or contribute to writing monthly and final reports.Communicate directly with clients to assess their needs and develop beneficial relationships.Be knowledgeable of all technical procedures and SOPs required for accomplishing project tasks.Perform technical-based tasks and laboratory analysis using established protocols and SOPs.Review experimental data for completeness and accuracy according to standard procedures.Ensure all criteria and specifications have been met and assign qualitative results of data.Note unusual results and report them to the Laboratory or Section Manager.Ensure accurate computer (LIMS) entry and completeness.Develop or revise protocols and SOPs and monitor staff for compliance to all SOPs and Quality Assurance requirements.Provide or arrange specific technical training necessary for staff to accomplish tasks.Take initiative and share decision-making and other responsibilities with others.Interact collaboratively with team members to accomplish project, division, and Institute level goals and resolve problems.Essential SkillsProtein purificationPCRQPCRGLPSOPCAPALIMSSecret ClearanceExperience and technical knowledge to support quality assurance activities including the development of SOPs, risk assessments, Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs)Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)Additional Skills & QualificationsM.S. in a specified study area plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; orB.S. in a specified study area plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experienceAbility to work 3rd shift, Saturday-Wednesday, 11:00 pm-8:00 amOR Ability to work 2nd shift. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. To meet the government security investigation requirements, U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite. The work schedule for this role is 3rd shift, Saturday-Wednesday, 11:00 pm-8:00 am. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $85000.00
