Job Description

This is a permanent fulltime position, working a 37.5 hour week. The shift pattern is: Tuesday - Friday 14:00 - 22:00 & Saturday 12:30 - 20:00.

To maintain a clean hygienic working environment within the Wolverhampton Laboratory, continuous stock control for all working stations for the laboratory to achieve lean goals.

Assist the laboratory in stocking up individual work stations which will assist in achieving the optimum production from the laboratoryWork aseptically and wear appropriate PPE when in the labsDry pre-poured media ready for use in the laboratorySupplement broths and medias ready for use within the laboratoryOrganisation of stock rooms and help maintain stock rotationHave knowledge of disinfectants and make up daily for in lab useRemoval of waste from the laboratory throughout the day and maintenance of the hygiene of the internal bins and waste system.To be familiar with relevant health and safety legislation and to ensure that all relevant, hazard signs are used when appropriate.To carry out any other reasonable tasks as designated by your line manager.Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activitiesPerform daily, weekly and monthly 5S auditsAssist in standardizing the workstations and workflow in the laboratory and take responsibility for upkeep of these.
