Labcorp is seeking a Part-Time Lab Support Technician to join its team in San Leandro, CA!  This position will be working in the Pre-analytical department at our STAT clinical laboratory. In this role, you will process urgent patient samples to be analyzed on-site or sent off-site. You will work with your fellow Technicians along with Clinical Laboratory Scientists. No wet lab bench work is involved.

Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-1:30pm

Pay Range: $20.00-26.00/hr

Job Responsibilities:  

Perform routine laboratory duties within the PreAnalytical area including:  Specimen receiving and data entry in LIS  Instrument loading Recording of equipment daily readings and disinfection logs. Completion of QA Documents  Responsible for sample preparation steps including Aliquoting, and Pour-offs Perform inventory control  Practice aseptic / sterile techniques  Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures  Communicate with outside departments including Healthcare Providers, Client Services and other Labcorp personnel.   

Job Requirements :

BS/BA degree in Biology, Chemistry, or similar biological scientific discipline highly preferredPrevious lab experience a plus, but not required   Laboratory experience performing assays utilizing instrumentation a plus  Understanding and familiarity with aseptic technique and good specimen handling   Strong computer skills: familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is beneficial  Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards  Must have good organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills  Ability to work in collaborative, flexible work environment  Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
