Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Laboratory Technician to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The team provides material process development and fabrication laboratory testing services to support active programs and develop new technologies for next generation programs. This position will be located on-site in Clearfield, Utah.
Position Overview:
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, located in Clearfield Utah, is seeking a motivated candidate to perform lab testing within the Quality Lab. The qualified applicant will be proficient with hands-on application techniques and best practices for a diverse set of paste adhesives, including common industry sealants and advanced, specialty adhesives.
In addition to performing hands-on application work, the selected candidate will:
Proactively work with customers to identify objectives, risks, and deliverables for incoming work packages utilizing a laboratory work tracking systemCollaborate with the team to execute work orders on-time and on-budgetInterpret process specifications, work instructions and engineering drawings to understand and meet customer expectationsPerform resource management and distribute work among a team of technicians and engineersResponsible for work scheduling, material inventory and equipment management throughout the Quality labDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with program customers, engineering, and functional management to ensure alignment and successful completion of work packagesFacilitate effective and frequent communication among all stakeholders to promptly address operational issues and challengesEnsure continued lab operations and execution of the statement of workWork with other resources across the department and organizationEnsure safety and regulatory compliance requirements including identifying and addressing safety concernsSelf-starter and motivatedBasic Qualifications:
Lab Tech 2:
High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and medical Lab, or aerospace composite-related experience.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and Special Program AccessEquipment DSC Scan, DMA Glass Transition, FTIR Spectroscopy, Instron Testing FramesExperience with paste adhesive/sealant applicationsLab Tech 3:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and medical Lab, or aerospace composite-related experience.Experience with paste adhesive/sealant applications.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and Special Program AccessEquipment DSC Scan, DMA Glass Transition, FTIR Spectroscopy, Instron Testing FramesExperience with reading and interpreting ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) test standards.Must be able to effectively communicate with engineers and management from multiple disciplines.Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.System experience in Solumina or SAPActive DoD Secret ClearanceSalary Range: $38,600.00 - $64,300.00Salary Range 2: $45,800.00 - $76,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
