Prepares pathology specimens for send-out, and documents return of materials and reports. Works closely with pathology staff in monitoring service quality to ensure proper specimen collection, accessioning, reporting, billing of lab tests, and delivery of quality outcomes. Must be able to utilize good anatomic pathology terminology. Actively participates in lab compliance activities. Responsibilities Demonstrates an overall knowledge and competency while performing tasks listed in the job description and all expected LTA duties. Accurately retrieves, registers, and accessions all specimens into Histopathology with appropriate record-keeping. Accurately organizes workload and prepares cassettes for grossing. Prepares Pathology specimens for send-out, and documents return of materials and reports. Prepares cytology specimens for review. Identifies issues and processes requiring improvement. Ability to find, organize and use resources to improve outcomes. Assists with maintaining organization and cleanliness and work/storage areas. Job duties will include specimen accessioning, performing routine equipment maintenance, inventory, stocking, and bench cleaning. Storage tracking/discard of samples. Qualifications Associate's in chemistry or biological sciences is essential; bachelor's degree graduates preferred. Credentials Education Essential: Associates degree Entry USD $18.50/Hr. Expert USD $28.68/Hr.
