**Description:**
The laboratory manager works collaboratively with the Medical Director, Laboratory Leadership Team, nurses, physicians, and colleagues. They are responsible for the general administrative needs of the Laboratory including the integration and implementation of all hospital policies and procedures and communication with other hospital departments. This individual is responsible to plan, direct and manage cost effective patient care through the utilization of appropriate staffing and stewarding of resources in accordance with accreditation requirements.
The Laboratory Manager must have the ability to respond to the Medical and Regional Administrative Directors of Laboratories and be cognizant of the goals and objectives of hospital administration. They are accountable for the development/analysis of operational and revenue budgets and may also directly manage an operational cost center as assigned.
**Position Summary**

**What the Lab Manager will need:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in medical technologist with internship
+ American Society of clinical Pathology or equivalent registration.
+ Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible clinical experience is preferred.
+ Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
+ Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral.
