Laboratory Technician

The Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases is recruiting for a Laboratory Technician who will assist in management of multiple on-going clinical research grants, including but not limited to: communication with collaborating PIs, clinical personnel and clinicians, scheduling of lab work for research visits, quality review and assurance of lab documentation and output, inventory development and management, and managing documentation of personnel certifications in compliance with GCLP (Good Clinical Laboratory Practice) guidance. Other processing duties will include processing for other on-going NIH-funded HIV grants held in the same lab and division. Attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work in a team are required skills. Experience in the above-described research areas are preferred.

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.

The laboratory technician will perform processing of human blood tissue samples for immunology, virology, and molecular biology experiments for new and existing NIH-funded and biopharmaceutical grants for clinical trial research projects as part of the Macatangay lab in the Division of Infectious Diseases. The position may require working non-standard hours and occasional Saturdays.
