Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.

In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. This is a full-time, twelve-month position to oversee laboratory activities and facilitate research in the laboratory of Tess Stahl, Ph.D.

Among the key duties of the position are the following: Carries out and facilitates research in ruminant nutrition and lactation biology, as well as general laboratory management. Responsible for the preparation of reagents, performing laboratory experiments and feed analysis, as well as organization of lab records, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, in consultation with the Principal Investigator and department administration. Provides professional level laboratory technical support duties involving the application of scientific research methods and techniques. Performs multistage purifications, other assays, and tests; propagates non-animal specimens and cell cultures; prepares tissues, chemicals, and/or living subjects for testing; may conduct breeding of small animals; and performs related duties as assigned.
