Laboratory Technician $19.49/hr

Seeking candidates with familiarity in wastewater treatment. Candidates should possess general titration running line experience, including the ability to monitor conductivity, free and total alkalinity/acid, and the aptitude to interpret and act upon that information.

As a Laboratory Technician you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Primary Responsibilities

This position operates, troubleshoots, makes repairs or adjustments where needed, and is responsible for numerous systems within the plant.  Tends to the pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum filters,  and decontaminate wastewater.Reads and reports on the charts, flow meters and gauges within the systems. Analyzes data to manage the systems. COllects and titrates samples and makes adjustments.  Problem solves and correct failures.Responsible for operating waste treatment plants.Operates machinery that converts wastewater in drains and sewers into a form that's safe to release into the environment.Control equipment and monitor processes that remove or destroy harmful materials, chemicals, and microorganisms from wastewater.Run tests to make sure that the processes are working correctly.Keep records of water quality and other indicators.Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through filtration systems.Monitor the indicators at their plants and make adjustments as necessary.Read meters and gauges to make sure that plant equipment is working properly.Take samples and run tests to determine the quality of the water being produced.Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as chlorine and fluorine, being added to the water.Use computerized systems to monitor plant processes.Keep records that document compliance.
