A Laboratory Tecnician contributes to AHF by maintaining and operating 2 diagnostic machines (Abbott Architect i1000r and a Cepheid GeneXpert Infinity), and other equipment that tests for: HIV antigen/antibody;; Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea. Ensures all specimens waiting to be processed are safely handled and stored properly in accordance to the FDA’s manufacturers insert. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for projecting and integrating the Mission and Core Values of the organization within and outside of the Public Health Division.
A Laboratory Technician enhances the reputation of AHF by Receiving and processing blood and other potential infectious material by following established standard operating procedures (SOP) and bio-safety regulation working in a BL2 laboratory. Ensures specimens are processed within proper timeframes, ensures the results are entered into the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner and reviews and maintains accurate specimen manifests. The labortatory Tecnicianproduces results.
