We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Rubber R&D team. You will be responsible for conducting tests that is coming from the whole Metso organization, which involves development, improvements and investigations in all businesses that involves rubber within Metso. Your role plays a crucial part in our ability to serve the organization, which will contribute to reach our targets in performance, cost efficiency and sustainability. In this position, you will report to Manager Materials Development & Testing Lab.

 

This position is located at our laboratory in Skellefteå, Sweden.

 

Team you belong to

 

You will join a team of rubber engineers dedicated to developing new and better rubber materials in terms of performance and sustainability.

We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Metso Business Areas, Product Lines, Supply chain but also universities, institutions, external suppliers and customers. Our team culture is all about safety first and getting it done together. The members in our team are based in Skellefteå, Sweden.

 

What you’ll do

 

· Assist the organization to develop new and improved rubber materials, adhesion systems, manufacturing methods, manufacturing technologies and test methods

· Examples of daily tasks: Mix rubber compounds and conduct a wide range of different rubber test and compile the test results into a professional report.

· Support in internal process, safety and quality development

 

Who you are

 

· We believe you have a chemical or mechanical background and like to work hands-on.

· As a rubber technician, you are analytical and well-organized with an interest in continuous improvement.

· You have good verbal and written communication skills in English

· Curiosity in rubber and its behavior is seen as positive.

· Previous experience in rubber or laboratory work is seen as an asset.
