Position Title: Lab Technician - Industrial Manufacturing
Location: Troy, MI
Shift: 1st Shift – Monday - Friday
Position Overview
The R&D Lab Technician is responsible for providing support to team scientists, assisting on NPI products verification, and the corresponding tests. This position may support sales and QC team for customer complaint investigation on some occasions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Create (with high accuracy) chemical sample formulations specific to the formula instructionsPrepare testing samples per direction of the experimental planTest Adhesives, Sealants, and Coatings per experimental planCapable of running all standard laboratory tests (i.e. Instron, thermal cycle, solids, viscosity, etc.)Record all data in experiment and assemble in Excel for review with Lead Chemist(s)Detailed recording of all data (quantitative and qualitative) in Notebook for given experiment andshare with lead chemist (thorough documentation required)Work seamlessly with all Chemists, Manufacturing personnelAll other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designated person.

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common factors, and decimals. Ability to compute a ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Preferred Requirements:
• Junior college or above in chemistry related majors
• 3-5 years of lab experience, preferably in Chemical Industry
• Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel occasionally
• Good verbal and written communication skills, interaction with internal and external customers, ability, and willingness to work in a team environment (multinational)
• Good PC skills in Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $20.00 - $23.00.In addition to your salary, H.B.
