This individual will be responsible for performing the technical aspects of assigned tests in compliance with GLP, USDA and AAALAC guidelines.
Position Details:
Sunday to Thursday 7 AM to 3:30 PM (Training on Monday to Friday)Anticipated Compensation: $22-25 per hour dependent on experience.Full-time position offering competitive benefits including Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance, 401K matching, and paid time offFlexibility to hire at a lower or higher level.
Responsibilities Performs various tests that may include injections, patching and wrapping, implantation of test substances, observations, necropsies and withdrawing and collecting bodily fluids, following internal SOP/protocol guidelines.Handles animals humanely.Prepares animals for testing, which may include shaving, weighing, identifying and anesthetizing the animals.Some interaction with clients.Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel/ lead.Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.May be required to work Holidays and weekends.May be required to work overtime. Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.Other duties as assigned which may include assisting in other departments. Minimum 2 years of experienceGLP/GMP experience Animal Science backgroundAssociates Degree or equivalentKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Proficient in Oral & Written communication skillsNeed to be able to read, write and understand English Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a Lab setting with exposure to animals/biohazards/chemical Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Must be able to work in environment with minimal noise levelsAbility to sit or stand for long periods of timeClarity of visionAbility to identify and distinguish colors- as evidence by passing a color blindness screening test.
