This position will play a vital role in ensuring that laboratory operations run smoothly by handling essential housekeeping tasks and supporting the laboratory staff with various administrative and laboratory functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for laboratory work, attention to detail, and organizational skills. **Key Responsibilities:** + Clean and properly store laboratory glassware, utensils, and analytical tools. + Receive, log inventory, label, and stock laboratory reagents. + Perform routine housekeeping duties, including cleaning benchtops, shelves, cabinets, and floors. + Ensure safe and compliant storage of tools, reagents, and consumables. + Maintain inventory levels and notify the supervisor or chemists of low stock for ordering. + File GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) records for short-term storage and catalog for long-term storage. + Assist with basic laboratory tasks such as daily balance checks, pH meter calibrations, and other tasks as assigned. + Support chemists by assisting with basic laboratory assignments when needed. + Complete work orders for routine cleaning, sanitizing, and calibrating of laboratory equipment. **Qualifications and Skills:** + Some laboratory experience is preferred. + Some chemistry or related science coursework is preferred. + Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. + Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks on time. + Ability to prioritize work based on department needs and compliance requirements. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. **Mathematical Skills:** + Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. + Comfortable working with mathematical concepts like probability, statistical inference, and statistical process control. + Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. + Perform unit conversions between English and Metric systems. **Physical Demands:** + Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands for tasks, talk, hear, reach, and smell. + Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. + Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds occasionally. **Top Three Skills:** + Organizational skills + Excellent communication + Attention to detail **Additional Information:** + 100% onsite position, requiring the ability to work during normal business hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). + A great opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in a laboratory environment and contribute to the success of our team.
