Laboratory Technician
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Understand personal impact and supporting role for all management systems. + Support quality team metrics and TPAP activities + Support internal auditing processes, as required. + Interface with production employees and leadership to understand / resolve quality issues. + Operate / maintain CMM (run programs) + Measure parts from machining stations and quality gates to determine conformity level. + Ensure plant wide gauging system is compliant (gage operation, troubleshooting, repair, and overall maintenance + Perform gage calibrations and maintain in GageTrak software [~50% duties] + Ensure proper suspect and non-conforming material identification, segregation, and containment. + Train shop floor resources surrounding inspection, testing, measuring and metrology. + Input data and maintain spreadsheets and other documents and software per internal and TS / ISO requirements. + Contacting suppliers for gauge collaborations that cannot be completed in-house. + Creating Po’s and Requisitions on quality related items **QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS** **Formal qualifications required:** _Essential:_ _High School Diploma/GED_ _Ability to perform duties with a minimum of supervision._ _Ability to learn and grow as a team member and individual._ _Basic knowledge of SPC techniques_ _Basic problem-solving techniques._ _Basic understanding of blueprints and GD&T Principle_ **Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge, and Skills Required:** _Essential:_ _Ability to work with calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools, with effective e-mail, communication and computer skills are required._ _Zeiss Measurements CMMS – Preference not required._ GKN Automotive is the market leader in conventional, all-wheel and electrified drive systems and solutions.
