Laboratory Technician
Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description

The Laboratory Technician's primary responsibility is to provide support to laboratory staff as needed in all areas of laboratory operations. The laboratory technician will report to the general manager and/or operations manager for their daily assignment. The needs of the laboratory will change on a daily basis, as will the laboratory technician's role.

ResponsibilitiesIndependently prepare and analyze samples, following analytical SOPs using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies after appropriate training.Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.Assist with validation and MDL studies.Assist with the investigation and preparation of responses to client inquiries and CARs.Input and maintain technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions and operations.Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in extraction, titration, pH testing, and other general chemistry techniques such as wet chemistry, titrations, dilutions, and viscosity testing.Comfortable handling various acids, bases, and reagents with appropriate PPE.Experience in organic extraction, metals, and/or GC or GCMS techniques.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) is a must.Effective communication skills with the ability to work under minimal guidance and multi-task with shifting priorities each day.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge and concern of environmental issues is a plus.Demonstrates utmost level of integrity in all instances and shows respect towards others and towards company principles.Excellent time management skills, including the ability to balance multiple projects concurrently with different deadlines and arrange the resources necessary to accomplish them.Work Environment

The work environment is a chemistry lab focused on extractions. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is required as longer hours, evenings, and/or weekend work may be necessary frequently as job duties demand.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
