As aLaboratory Technicianin our Mauldin, SC surfactants plant, you will make an impact on the world with a fundamental focus on sustainability. As aLaboratory Technician, you will be a part of a team which manufactures more than 150 products made at the site, including: surfactants and co-surfactants, specialty esters, proprietary blends, and more!
**Starting in May, 2025, you…**
Will begin a BASF specific academic program at USC-Upstate while working and learning on site in our Mauldin, SC site from some of the best in the business. During your time here we don’t want you to sweat the small stuff so BASF will cover the entire cost of your educational program, including books!
**When you’re not studying you will have opportunities to…**
Work hands-on in our Mauldin, SC surfactantsand co-surfactantsplant you will learn to:
+ Test raw materials, in-process and final samples; perform necessary calculations and process adjustments.
+ Accurately record results in RTPS and SAP, and communicate findings.
+ Standardize all reagents and conduct internal testing for maintenance and failure prevention of equipment.
+ Report unsafe equipment, behaviors, and lab conditions.
+ Manage solvents, waste disposal, and order reagents and supplies as needed.
+ Unpack and store reagents upon receipt.
+ Communicate with internal and external customers in the supervisor’s absence.
+ Manage and store retains; dispose of in-process, raw material, and old retains.
+ Clean glassware, maintain lab housekeeping, and file batch sheets.
**If you...**
+ Have a HS Diploma or GED
+ Are willing to work in a chemical plant environment and can lift 50lbs.
+ Have ability to stand extended amounts of time.
+ Are able to work 12hr shifts (day **OR** night/weekends and holidays)
+ Are willing to enroll in a academic program to launch a career in Manufacturing
+ Have experience with computers (e.g. spreadsheets, databases, MS Office)
+ Can work in a team environment and be in attendance for all assigned shifts.
