Responsibilities:•Perform laboratory tests on construction materials such as moisture content, compaction, sieves, hydrometers, Atterberg limits, corrosion suites, expansion index, concrete flexural strength, etc.
•Apply basic computer data templates, interpret test data, and prepare reports of test data
•Other testing and duties may be assigned
•Ability to work in a lab environment operating specialized testing equipment
•Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED 1-2 years in Civil Engineering or lab testing, preferred Experience with ASTM, AASHTO, and Caltrans for soils, asphalt, concrete, masonry, and aggregate testing preferred Strong math skills Willingness to work in a soil environment which may require getting dirty Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and operate hand-controlled testing equipment Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record Must be able to pass the drug test and background check post offer
