Laboratory Technician I
CTG is seeking to fill a Laboratory Technician I opening for our client in Richland, WA. Location: Richland, WA Duration: 5 months Duties: Provide technical and administrative support to the Fitness for Duty (FFD) program during the Columbia Generating Station Outages. Collect, process, and document breath and urine specimens in accordance with 10 CFR Part 26 and regulatory guidelines (NRC, OSHA, HHS, and WAC). Analyze and process urine samples for drug and alcohol testing following established procedures. Perform analysis of breath samples, including the interpretation of data. Maintain FFD testing equipment and perform limited troubleshooting and accuracy checks as per manufacturer specifications. Ensure compliance with all necessary certifications under 10 CFR Part 26 for urine and breath alcohol testing. Maintain supplies, equipment, and record systems at the FFD collection and testing facility. Ensure strict confidentiality is maintained at all times when handling sensitive information. Skills: Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail. Proficient in the use of personal computer software, including MS Office. Strong communication and human relations skills. Ability to discreetly handle sensitive and confidential information. Ability to work efficiently under critical deadlines and stressful conditions. Experience: Must be trainable in the collection and processing of specimens for drug and alcohol testing under 10 CFR Part 26. Prior experience with breath and urine specimen handling and testing equipment is preferred, but training will be provided. Education: High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Columbia Generating Station. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
