**Job Title: Laborer** **Job Description** We are currently seeking general production workers who will serve as utility persons, supporting various operations as needed. This role involves working across four main areas: Rebar Bending, Shear Operation, Crane Operation, and Rebar Shaking. Candidates may spend more time in certain areas than others but will eventually be trained to handle all tasks. **Responsibilities** + Rebar Bending: Bend steel to specifications using a mechanical bending machine. Perform repetitive lifting and bending tasks while stacking bars. Maintain a clean work area and assist in tying rebar bundles. Accurate measurement skills are essential. + Shear Operator: Operate the rebar shear console to cut rebar to correct lengths. Keep track of mill heat numbers on bundles and separate straight bars from those needing bends. Good math skills are essential. Opportunity for growth to a shift supervisor role. + Crane Operator: Operate an overhead crane to move rebar around using a remote control device. + Rebar Shaker: Shake out the correct size and number of bars as requested by the shear operator. Assist in tying bundles and clean the shake-out and shear area. The workspace can be dirtier than typical office environments and is subject to temperature extremes, being very cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Our company operates on two shifts: 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm and 2nd shift from 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Overtime is occasionally required, potentially resulting in 10-hour workdays or some Saturdays. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and a t-shirt, with additional layers recommended during cold weather. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
