POSITION DUTIES + Participates in various projects or tasks requiring physical labor (e.g., installing and removing signs, installing and removing pavement markings, placing cones, traffic control, routine shop and tool maintenance, vehicle maintenance, etc.) + Loads and unloads materials, supplies, equipment, trash and other debris; may use hand pallet or forklift. + Verifies materials, supplies, equipment, etc. received by checking shipping and/or packaging documents, and inspects items for damages. + Salts sidewalks, steps and removes snow. + Assists Sign & Paint Maintenance Specialists with sign and marking installation. + Performs simple construction jobs (e.g., barricades, fences, etc ). + Cleans buildings, offices, restrooms, and the surrounding grounds. + Uses a variety of hand and power tools, equipment and pionjars , etc. + May operate fueling stations (e.g., refuels City vehicles, completes and maintains records of gasoline, oil and other fluids used). + May drive trucks of one ton or less in daily routine. + May be required to assemble equipment or goods received. + May work shifts, weekends and holidays. + Performs routine maintenance of equipment (e.g., compressors, pionjars , paint machines, drills , etc ). + Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required .
