Discover a more connected Laborer career At N orth Sky Communications , as a Laborer on our Telecom Underground team, you’ll participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, delivery, digging, and equipment operation. We are primarily looking for candidates who live in the Clallam County area where this position is located. This job is prevailing wage. Connecting you to great benefits + Weekly Paychecks + Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, and Holidays + Insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance) + 401(k) w/ Company Match + Stock Purchase Plan + Education Reimbursement + Legal Insurance What you’ll do as a Laborer + Perform construction tasks including loading, delivery, digging, and operating equipment + Install underground telecommunications cabling + Operate construction equipment, and maintain work areas + Clearly communicate with all team members + Complete daily production reports + Help with site restoration efforts + Perform work in all weather conditions + Other duties as assigned What you’ll need + To be 18 years of age or older + Authorization to work in the United States for this company + High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience + Previous experience safely operating various hand tools and utility trucks, is preferred + Must have at minimum Class C Regular Driver's License + Class A Commercial Driver’s License Preferred + Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. + Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner + Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner + Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc. + Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position + 6 months of experience in the utility construction industry preferred but not required + Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities Physical abilities & exposures + Must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day 5 days per week. May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call + Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift. + Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses and hardhat + Ability to work in adverse weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as wind, rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog + Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens. + Must be able to lift/carry 55 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance + Routinely: work alone in remote locations and in confined spaces with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds + Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse + Rutinely : work alone in remote locations and in confined spaces with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds + Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse Salary Range $ 24-28 hr but is a Prevailing Wage job Why work with us Your career here is more than just a job — it's your pathway to opportunity.
