\nJob Summary
\nAs a Lactation Consultant RN, you'll create a breastfeeding plan. Educate parents and staff, update protocols, provide consultation. Ensure infants and parents are well by guiding them in breastfeeding.
\nWhat You'll Do
\n\nEncourage breastfeeding for infant health. Offer consultations, materials, and classes to help parents and medical team.\nEvaluate parent and baby interest in breastfeeding.\nProvide specialized help for mothers. Offer bedside consultations and follow-up visits in hospital.\nKeep the medical staff updated, providing education about breastfeeding protocols, care plans, and recent information.\nDocument all the teachings and responses, and communicate these findings to the relevant staff members.\nRegularly assess the efficiency of the breastfeeding program and make necessary changes if required.\nParticipate in collecting data and reporting on neonatal outcomes, specifically those related to breastfeeding.\nProvide parents with information and demonstrations about breast pump rentals or purchases, if required.\n\nWhat Will Make You Successful In The Role

\nQualifications
\n\nAssociate degree, preferably in nursing.\nA minimum of (2) two years of experience in Lactation Consultant and Mother/Baby (level III or higher) RN experience.\nYou need to be certified or licensed in various areas which include:\nBLS Certification.\nRegistered Nurse.\nCertified Lactation Consultant or International Lactation Certification.CLC: Certified Lactation Consultant OR IBCLC: International Lactation Certification.\n
