Job Description:

Lactation Consultant-RN-Full-Time

The lactation consultant is a member of the Mother-Baby team who provides consultation and hands on assistance for mothers experiencing difficulties related to breast feeding initiation/sustainment in both the inpatient and outpatient setting (prenatally and beyond discharge from the hospital.)The lactation consultant is responsible for initiating a plan of care to provide consistent and evidence-based practice interventions. The lactation consultant provides staff training in lactation support and gives direction by mentoring to nursing and allied health staff at the bedside.

I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required

Graduate of an accredited school of NursingCurrent RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permit.Certifications based on the unit worked:BLSNRPCLC/CBS
