Prep Cooks make the world go round. You’re responsible for organizing everything in advance and during service, to make the kitchen really hum. You strive for an efficient, well-oiled machine, and that’s exactly what the kitchen is, thanks to your prep. Everything from chopping, breaking down, cutting, weighing, mixing, washing, storing, unloading, readying – you play a vital role in the kitchen’s day-to-day routine. 

Responsibilities Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and  procedural trainingPrepares menu items according to Flanigan’s company recipe manual and plate presentationEnsures rotation of all products and stocks products to par level, to ensure kitchen is not disruptedHelps complete  assigned prep work, to stock and set up stations as necessaryTransports items to and from kitchen, helps Vendor unload delivery trucksCleans and maintains kitchen area throughout shiftBreaks down and cleans all stations at closing

                  

Qualifications Able to work flexible shift schedule which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidaysCan physically stand/walk 100 % of shiftCan reach, bend, stoopAbility to speak, read and write EnglishAble to read recipes and food labelsAble to read POS ticket ordersCommunicates ticket times, executes food flow from kitchen to guests, and reports potential issues to Manager on dutyAble to safely use kitchen machinery (Open Flame Grill, Stove, Slicer, etc)Work safely with hot plates, pots, pansWork safely with sharp knives and utensilsAble to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezersAbility to hold items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods of timeWork in high temperature, damp environment  indoors and minimally outdoorsAssist fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning, as neededComplete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
