Job Title: Lamination Operator

Job Description

As a Lamination Operator, you will be responsible for mixing adhesives according to specific formulas, conducting first piece inspections, and setting up and operating machines in accordance with established procedures. You will maintain the cleanliness of machines and adjacent work areas to SQF standards, utilize satellite containers for hazardous waste, and report quality issues to the Laminator Operator I or management. Additionally, you will verify the correct calculation of adhesive amounts needed for jobs, determine the necessary impression rollers, assist the operator with adding adhesive and changing raw material rolls, and operate the machine during breaks. Participation in performance system activities such as 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, and Near Misses is also required.

ResponsibilitiesMix adhesives according to formulas.Conduct first piece inspections.Set up and operate machines according to procedures.Maintain cleanliness of machines and adjacent work areas to SQF standards.Utilize satellite containers for hazardous waste.Report quality issues to Laminator Operator I or management.Verify the correct calculation of adhesive amounts needed for jobs.Determine necessary impression rollers and cut/resurface to specifications.Assist the operator with adding adhesive and changing raw material rolls.Operate the machine during breaks.Participate in performance system activities such as 5Star, Pillar Teams, Audits, and Near Misses.Essential Skills6+ months of machine operating experience.Experience lifting up to 50lbs per day.Ability to read, write, and speak English.Safety awareness when loading and unloading products.Willingness to learn and grow within the company.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience operating a machine for a packaging company.Experience in a GMP company is a plus.Previous lamination experience.Experience setting up machines.Experience in corrugated packaging or printing.Coating or solvent-based mixing/operating experience.Training in safety protocols.Ability to take measurements.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This role involves working in a 500,000 sqft facility that is extremely clean and well organized, though it may get dirty and have strong smells during production due to working with adhesive. Safety is a top priority, and the facility is equipped with GMP standards, safety shoes, hair nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses. Departments include Print, Lamination, Slitting, Warehouse, and Maintenance. The facility features updated breakrooms with new self-serve vending processes and has seen recent investments in new machinery, with additional capital expenditures planned over the next 3-5 years.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.44 - $22.44
