LAN Design Engineer

In this capacity, you will be predominately focused on the design and engineering of services within our growing and continuously evolving LAN services portfolio, with a primary focus on managed LAN and managed WLAN services (including managed DHCP and IPAM services).

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

To provide top-level design expertise for provisioning projects to ensure alignment with LAN services for greenfield, brownfield, acquisitions, and custom designs. To provide guidance and expertise of Build of Material list (parts list) for LAN service projects as needed, driven by complexity. To work with the Managed LAN/WLAN Services Manager on the evaluation of new technologies, growth, and development of LAN services that align with service roadmaps. To collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure LAN services are designed to ensure a high level of quality and consistency using existing and new technologies. To stay up-to-date and work with new and emerging technologies to help influence the direction feature releases of LAN Services. To collaborate with other engineers, technical specialists, and vendors to provide feedback for improvements and designs with services. To provide last-level support to the service delivery and operations teams for escalated LAN service issues.

You can proficiently communicate ideas and influence both internal and external customers. You're interpersonally savvy and able to collaborate and efficiently work with people at any level.

 

For This Role, You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related courses. 8 years of relevant experience in IT with at least 3 years of working experience in service transition or service engineering. At least 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and operation of Local Area Networks and/or Wireless networks with Cisco and Fortinet hardware in an enterprise environment. At least 1 year of experience with FortiManager. ITIL v3 Foundation Level Certification.

 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Cisco LAN certifications are a plus.
